The Pew Research Center shows that Africa currently has the largest population of Christians in the world. Three countries in the top ten Christian populations by country. These are Nigeria at number six, DRC at seven and Ethiopia at nine.
By 2060, three more countries in Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, are expected to join the list. One of the most interesting things the report points out is that Nigeria stands as the only country on both lists.
Africa is seeing large growth in Churches and Christian communities despite continued persecution. Religious persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group of individuals as a response to their religious beliefs or affiliations.
